The LANGUAGE used on this double page spread are the media conventions including the headline 'Girl you'll be a woman soon' Girl is coloured in pink, to represent her feminism. 5) My target audience
The target audience i am aiming for is male and female teenagers and university students who enjoy or like the music genre 'pop'. The age of my target audience will be between 14-21. This age range fits my type of genre and these are the ages of people who will most likely be interested in the music genre of 'pop.' As of my target auidence mainly been teenagers and students they would fall under the 'E' catergory of the 'Demographics S.E.G' this is because a lot of them will be unemployed, and if they're employed they will only atain a small wage from a part time job because of the majority of their time spent in education and studying.

Front Page Conventions 'seventeen'
The language used in the magazine cover are media conventions. The ones used in this magazine cover are: magazine date line and issue price, a barcode for shop use, a main cover image, puffs to promote competitions and freebies within the magazine, splashes to help promote a happening in the magazine using graphics, a strapline which describes the main image, a main headline matching the main cover image, skyline that promotes features in the magazine, a masthead and different headlines. I have pointed each of these out in the image above. The language on the magazine cover as it helps attract the right audience for the magazine. The ideology is who the magazine has been created for. This magazine has been created for teenage girls and young women because of the types of articles it features. It is also for people who are interested in 'pop' music and what the latest news and gossip is within the pop world. It advertises 'pop' music by using a very famous pop artist Beyonce as the main cover image. The magazine institution is used to promote things that are happening within the magazine and what the audience can gain from buying this magazine. Some of these are stated on the front cover to promote them more so the buyer can see what they could/can gain from buying this magazine. It does this by using puffs and splashes with graphics that grab the readers attention. The audience that the magazine is aiming to attract is female teenagers and young female adults, it is a very female aided magazine. It will also attract people who like the music genre 'pop' Most of the articles on the front of the magazine are aimed at young female audience, such as fashion articles and 'free perfume' which the magazine knows will attract the audience its looking for. As the target audience is quite a large quaunity the magazine would be sold across the country and in nationwide stores such as supermarkets aswell as local smaller newspaper stores. The representation of the magazine is of 'Beyonce' she represents the whole magazine because she dominates the front cover. The way she is posing, looks and is dressed also represents the magazine because it shows the type of people they must interview, like and want to be on their magazine as well as what the type of things the magazine will include. Beyonce represents the magazine as happy, confident and a good place to be, she looks happy to be there and is dressed in a pink top which also represents that the magazine is aimed at a young female audience and the colour of her top fits in with the colour scheme of the magazine and bright colours which are mainly pinks and oranges, summery happy colours.

Front Page Conventions 'Sugar'
The language used in the magazine are media conventions. The ones used in this magazine cover are: Coverlines helping promote articles within the magazine, smaller images showing what they can see inside the magazine aswell as the main image, a main large cover image who the main article in the magazine will be about, main feature headline relating to the main cover image, a barcode for the magazine to be bought in shops, date-price and website address so you are able to visit the magazine website, a masthead so you know what the magazine is called, a skyline to help promote what is inside the magazine, splashes graphics help promoting things within the magazine, teaser line making the readers want to read on, and cover lines promoting articles inside. You can see each of these which I have shown and wrote about in the image above. These are so we know what type of audience the magazine is aiming for. This magazine ideology is that of who the magazine has been created for. This magazine has been created for teenagers. This is because the articles feautred on the cover are ones like 'teen shocks secrets' this imdiatly tells you that teenagers will be buying this magazine because the articles they can relate too. It is also created for teenagers who are interested in the hot 'pop' gossip and latest syles. The magazine instution is used to promote things that audience (teenagers) can gain or get from buying the magazine. These are stated on the front cover within splashes and puffs to help promote the free or 'must haves' that you can get or find out from purchasing the magazine. Its aim is to do this in a fun 'popular' way to make the students feel like they are gaining something from this purchase. The audience the magazine is aiming for are teenagers and young girls. The magazine is a magazine aimed at females. It is aimed at mainly females because of the types of subjects it promotes within the magazine and on the cover. Young adults (again female) may also buy this magazine because they are interested in 'pop' music aswell as fashion. The magazine promotes 'pop' music to that genre audience by using pop artist Taylor Swift as the main front cover image. As the target audience is a reasonable large amount, the magazine would be sold accross the countrys and in nationwide stores such as supermarkets and local nationwide stores. The representation is of 'Taylor Swift' and that she is seen as a 'sexy' and 'confident' women/singer/celebrity seen on her facial expressions. The way that she portrates herself in the image also portrates onto what the magazine must be like. The representation is also given off that the magazine is for females because of the images and headlines used. The colour scheme also adds to this effect.
Front Page Conventions 'billboard'
The language used in the magazine are media conventions. The conventions used on this magazine cover are: a large full page image this is very important and that the subject makes eye contact with the reader as it is the first thing the reader will be drawn too, one splash this helps promote something happening within the magazine, puffs, date issue of the magazine, main feature headline which is a small summary which relates to the cover image, smaller headlines promote other articles which are in the magazine. I have pointed each of these out and shown how they work on the image above. The language of the magazine cover is very important as it helps you understand what type of audience the magazine is aiming at.
The ideology for this magazine has been created for young students and teenagers. This is because it is a 'pop' magazine and pop is mainly popular and familar within young teenagers and university students as its seen as popular music that is in the charts. It contains articles that they will be interested in and or can relate too. It advertises other pop articles on the cover for other artists other than Katy Perry (main image) which they may like or listen too.

The audience is what type of people the magazine is aiming to attract. In this case they are teenagers and university students as well as anyone interested in 'pop' music or just likes the 'billboard' magazine. Pop lovers would buy this magazine because it is a magazine aimed only at that music genre and they would want to read about it such as chart updates album updates news about the pop artists such as new songs albums and reviews ect. As of the target audience being quite a large range of people the magazine would most likelybe sold across the country and possibly worldwide if it featured artists across the world. The representation of the magazine is that of Katy Perry. The magazine cover is all about HER. This is because she is the only person/image to feature on the cover and therefore she represents the magzine. The way she acts, looks and poses gives off an impression to the readers and buyers that not only is she quite confident, happy beautiful and unmodest as she is covered in flowers which also can represent happiness. She helps represent the magazine in quite a sensual way because of the way she is posing such as her body language and facial expression.

I – The person that has designed the text. The magazine for will be for a certain Music genre. Because it is a music magazine it will be produced by a large possibly global company because it will be supplied to a mass audience of people and hopefully bring in a high profit. The main publishing houses are BAUER MEDIA which produces mohjo and IPC which produces NME
I – What message / moral / values does the magazine convey about the music genre and target audience? In my magazine I want to show that the the genre is fun and popular. That the magazine is enjoyed and bought by celebrities by advertising them onto my magazine. That it is a cool modern thing to buy.

A – Who the text is targeted at and who it will appeal to. The target audience of a music magazine will be male or/and female teenagers as well as university students. I will use images of people or types of people theu may admire or look up to in the world.
R – Who is portrayed in the magazine and how. The representation will be that the music genre will be seen as 'cool' and a fun music genre which is poppular with other teenagers/students in their age range too.
My choosen Music Genre
My choosen music genre is 'Pop' music this is because I want my magazine to be modern and up to date, pop music (abrieviated from popular) is considered to be modern music as its in the top 40 charts in the u.k and sometimes around the world.
Most likely they will listen to artists such as Cheryl Cole, Beyoncé, The Saturdays, Britney Spears and McFly (click the links) .
Main Task (brief)
Main Task: The front page, contents and double page spread of a new music magazine.

Promoting My Magazine
For my college magazine to sell, it firstly needs promoting. To do this I will need several plans of promoting ways to enable my magazine gets full coverage to all students.
They are many ways I would be able to promote my college magazine being:
- Sending an email to all tutors and students who attend Wyke college through the Wyke emailing system. In this email I would have a brief explanation about the magazine and advertising it to the students. I would attach an image of the magazine front cover, so they would be aware of what the magazine looks like, I would also inform them on the price and where the magazine is available to buy.
- I would let all tutors know about the magazine by either a notice in the staff room or an email again to each tutor, I would then ask them to let all their students in their tutor group informed about the magazine.
- An advert or page on the college official college website advertising the magazine. This would be great promotion for students who are not at Wyke too, such as ones that are visiting the site and are thinking of joining Wyke or choosing Wyke as there college to come to next year. Seeing the magazine on the website might intrigue them to buy it and find out more about the college.
Adding to my idea of promoting the college magazine on the website, I could also create a website for the magazine itself. They could be a link from the college website to the college magazine website. Each magazine cover issue would feature on here along with its hottest headlines within that issue. This would be a good idea because the magazine is aimed at students who are young and spend the majority of their time online and on social networking sites. It would be easy for them to access and find out any information they wanted or needed to know.
